New year, new Pride dates baby! The perfect combo of celebrating the LGBTQI+ community and going on holiday is so back. Sure, the UK has some iconic events, but Brighton Beach can’t compete with partying on the sand somewhere hot… e.g. Gran Canaria, Miami and Phuket. Or if you’re after big city energy, check out the events in Rome, New York or even LA. As usual, most are taking place in June this year to commemorate New York’s Stonewall Riots in June 1969, which marked the start of the Gay Rights movement as we know it – a round of applause for changing the world AND choosing an ideal month for celebrating in the sun.
Is your cal looking booked and busy in June? Lots of destinations start the fun early with events in April and May, and other places hold theirs in autumn, so you’ve got loads of opps to get involved. Here’s our round up of the best 2025 Pride events around the world…
Miami Beach Pride, USA – 4-6th April 2025
Miami is coming in HOT with its early Pride weekend. The buzzy city serves retro-glam with its pastel buildings and Art Deco architecture. And with average temps sitting at a steamy 29°C in April, it’s the perfect setting for partying and topping up your tan. Most of the festival takes place along Ocean Drive, including parades, beach parties and live performances – don’t freak out, but some pretty big names like Iggy Azalea, Billy Porter and Gloria Estefan have headlined in previous years. During the day, wholesome activities like art displays, family picnics and markets are put on. Then, in the evenings, expect drag pageants, rooftop film nights and after parties – South Beach’s 12th Street is where you’ll find the best gay bars and clubs.
Phuket Gay Pride, Thailand – April 2025 (dates TBC)
Tick Thailand off your dream trip list and support one of the world’s best up-and-coming Pride events. Patong Beach is where most of the celebrations happen – an LGBTQ+-friendly neighbourhood with a stunning white-sand sweep, backed by lively bars and restaurants. Compared to some of the bigger events on this line-up, Phuket Gay Pride still has a grassroots feel – the whole thing’s organised by local groups and small businesses, with a programme including wellbeing workshops, fundraising activities and art exhibitions, as well as a parade with cultural traditions and live music. Then, in the evenings, it’s all about the beach parties and experiencing Bangla Road’s high-energy nightlife.
Maspalomas Gay Pride, Spain – 1st-11th May 2025
The Gran Canarian town of Maspalomas is an LGBTQ+ fave, so you already know it hosts one of Europe’s biggest Pride celebrations every year. The town is painted rainbow with events taking over the Yumbo Center, Playa del Ingles and all the main streets, including a parade, ofc. There’s a long list of hot events like drag shows, sunset boat cruises and exclusive parties like Wet and White – AKA the pool party to end all pool parties at Amadores Beach Club. Can’t make it in May? There’s also a Winter Pride here in November, and the Vengaboys have been confirmed as headliners… say less.
Los Angeles Pride, USA – 6-8th June 2025
Coachella who? LA’s Pride events deliver all the festi feels you need. Dating all the way back to 1970, it was actually the first permitted Pride parade in the world, so it’s kind of a big deal. It winds through West Hollywood with glam costumes and the glitziest floats showcasing local talent and community groups, followed by block parties with pop-up bars, food stalls and live music. The weekend’s also packed with events like Pride In The Park – a festival held in LA State Historic Park. Watch this space for a full line-up, but with previous headliners including Mariah Carey and Megan Thee Stallion, you know it’s gonna be strong. And if going out out is on the cards, pool parties and afters are held in LGBTQ+ institutions, like The Abbey.
Roma Pride, Italy – 14th June 2025
RIP Julius Caesar, he would’ve loved Rome’s Pride celebration. It’s been going strong for over 30 years and it’s bigger and better than ever. The parade is the main event during the day – it usually starts from Piazza della Repubblica and makes its way past Rome’s most iconic landmarks, like the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and the Colosseum (you’ve basically met Paul Mescal, IYKYK). Once the sun goes down, it’s time for the official after party – Rock Me Pride – for an evening of dancers, drag queens and DJ sets, plus appearances from international artists… La dolce vita is so on.
New York Pride, USA – 28-29th June 2025
NYC Pride is bucket-list level – New York is seriously sacred ground for the LGBTQ+ community, so there’s no better place to celebrate it than where the modern Gay Rights movement started. The whole of June is Pride Month here, but the last weekend of the month is when all the major events take place, like the Pride Parade – we’re talking over 700 floats featuring dancers, elaborate costumes and rainbow flags left, right and centre. It starts from the corner of 25th Street and Fifth Avenue and passes the original site of the Stonewall riots. After the parade, the fun continues in gay clubs and rooftop bars across the city.
Madrid Pride, Spain – 28th June-7th July 2025
Spain’s back at it again with another huge Pride event, and this time we’re talking about its capital. Madrid’s always a good time, so you’re not even ready for the immaculate vibes when Pride hits in the middle of summer. The sunny plazas around the city basically become one big party, with high-energy crowds enjoying live music, performances and fun activities like high-heel races and the Mr Gay Pride Madrid contest. Most of the action happens in Chueca – the city’s gay district – where there are exhibitions, workshops and parties around every corner. Make sure you’re here for the Madrid Pride Parade, which take place on the first Saturday of July. The best spot to see it from? The end point on Plaza de Colón.
Barcelona Pride, Spain – 17-20th July 2024
Spain is clearing up with three destinations making it onto our hotlist, and buzzy Barcelona doesn’t disappoint. This boho city has a thriving LGBTQ+ scene and the district of Eixample – AKA Gayxample – is where you want to be for all the best LGBTQ+-friendly bars, restaurants and stays, although the three-day event is spread out across the whole city. Live performances and shows take place on the main stage, there’s a Pride Village near the university and even a kids’ zone with fun activities and workshops, then the parade takes over the city centre. You’ve also got La Barceloneta right there for some beach time between events, or head over to nearby Sitges – another LGBTQ+ fave – for a daytrip away from the city.
Amsterdam Pride, The Netherlands – 26th July-3rd August 2025
The first country to legalise same-sex marriage, the Netherlands has been a serious ally for the LGBTQ+ community, so its capital city is always a popular pick for Pride. But it’s deffo not your average event… Forget walking parades, Amsterdam’s takes place on its canals. Boats covered in the coolest and quirkiest designs start at the Scheepvaart museum and float their way along the water, so you can find a spot to watch it all happen from one of the bridges. Afterwards, it’s onto a street party – feel the love at the big main stage in Dam Square, or head to a gay club down the famous Reguliersdwarsstraat street to party until the AM.
Valletta Gay Pride, Malta – 5-14th September 2025
Malta’s topped the ILGA Rainbow Index – which maps positive changes to LGBTQ+ rights, laws and policies in Europe – so you can back the island to go hard when it comes to Pride. It takes over Valletta’s streets and biggest venues for a mega week of celebrations, with everything from queer film nights and art shows to talks and workshops from important LGBTQ+ figures. Follow the floats and dance groups through the streets of Europe’s smallest capital city, then catch drag and burlesque performances at the concert afterwards.
