Just Landed – July’s new arrivals

It’s official. Summer’s here (even if the UK doesn’t know it yet), the holiday season has begun, and our July new arrivals have landed just in time for you to go somewhere that’s actually sunny. This month’s all about fresh hotels in destinations you already love – we’re looking at you Greece, Gran Canaria and Cancun. Looking to spice things up? Do your next trip a little differently with our new city break stays in Singapore and Serbia.

Get to know some of July’s new arrivals…

The one with the Santorini sunsets…

The football didn’t come home, and you won’t want to either once you’ve seen this view. The Pantelia Suites in Firostefani have got everything you’d expect from a stay in Santorini, from the classic white-and-blue decor to the dreamiest terrace with an outdoor pool. It’s built on the north-west side of the caldera here – AKA volcanic crater – so you’re in a prime position to soak up the island’s iconic sunsets. Sit outside with your breakfast or a drink from the bar, then head into the village in the evenings for fresh seafood in a traditional taverna. For something livelier, you’re 15 minutes’ walk from Thira – Santorini’s capital – and its lively bars, shops and harbour.

The one with the lagoon-style pool…

Love a lagoon-style pool? Of course you do. The one at Radisson Blu Resort Gran Canaria is lined with palm trees and has a poolside bar, plus wooden bridges to a tropical island in the middle. Oh, and front-row views of the ocean. This pick’s rated five-stars, and it shows – everything’s super modern and stylish, from its rooms and restaurants to the huge spa centre. It’s also in a top-tier position between two of Gran Canaria’s best beaches – Arguineguin and Balito Beach. The first has more of fishing-village vibe with a cute harbour, local markets and laidback bars along the seafront, whereas Balito’s a more exclusive bay that backs onto big beach resorts.

The one that’s right on the beach…

If your priority is being as close to the sand as poss, this one’s all yours. With a good chunk of its facilities right on the beach , InterContinental Presidente Cancun Resort is all about living your best tropical life. There’s a beach club, beach bar and Caribbean restaurant on one of Cancun’s most stunning sweeps, with thatched huts, daybeds and wooden swings bringing the whole boho vibe together. Prefer freshwater to sea salt? The beach backs onto two outdoor pools and five hot tubs, and there’s a whole spa situation, too. The resort’s on the Hotel Zone strip, so you’ve got Caribbean Sea views on one side and Nichupte Lagoon on the other. And if you want a break from your beachy bubble, Cancun’s buzzy bars and clubs are a 15-minute walk away.

The one with skyline scenes from the rooftop infinity pool…

This set up sells itself. Everything about Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong is on point, from its insane rooftop to the decadent design. Moody lighting in the bar, walls covered in old photos and huge sculptures – there’s something around every corner that’ll have you doing a double take. The rooms are just as quirky, with unique patterns, statement furniture and murals of Singapore’s streets. The local culture’s the inspo for everything here – Katong is easily the coolest neighbourhood in the city. We’re talking lively bars, family-run restaurants and markets all set in historic buildings that are preserved to protect the area’s heritage.

The one right in the centre of Belgrade…

Serbia’s capital is in its up-and-coming city break era, and this central stay is the perfect pick for a strong first impression. Public House Hotel is within walking distance from all of Belgrade’s best bits – it’s a short stroll to Tasmajden Park and the Cathedral of Saint Sava, and it’s 20 minutes’ walk to Kalemegdan fortress and the Skadarlija in the Bohemian Quarter. This hotel’s got more going for it than just location, too. It’s in a seriously grand building that’s giving old-world charm – think lots of marble and ornate details, and the inside’s filled with classic furniture, art and a blush palette. There’s a pretty bar, restaurant and café, plus a spa with a sauna and hot tubs for some post-sightseeing pampering.
