Easter is one of the best times to travel. The spring vibes are giving, the blossom is blossoming and Europe starts preheating for summer. Whether you’re booking a long bank holiday weekend away or spending some family time together during the school hols (or you’re a teacher getting as far away from them as poss), these picks are perf for an Easter trip. 

Hello, early summer. School is out for one last time before the big break, so it’s a great opp to squeeze in a beachy trip before everyone else does. Most places are feeling nice and toasty by June, which means you’ve got destination options for days. Plus, the late May bank holiday often overlaps – that’s one less AL day you need to take. Here’s where you want to be at this time of year…  

If you don’t have kids, you probably avoid going away during the summer. If you’re a teacher, you’re stuck with the peak-season curse. But adults need to live their best summer lives, too, and there’s that last bank holiday of the summer to make the most of. Luckily for you, lots of adults-only stays usually have a good deal on while all the family places are packed. These destinations are pretty good for swerving the screaming and splashing…  

It might be autumn, but summer’s not over ‘til we say it’s over… and plenty of places in southern Europe feel the same. It’s your last chance to get some sunshine close to home, so don’t waste it! Mexico City is taken over by scary skeletons every year for Dia de los Muertos – AKA Day of the Dead. Romania’s capital, Bucharest embraces its lore as the home of Dracula, while New York goes all-out with the parades, creepy costumes and mega decorations – and it’s within daytrip distance of Salem, btw. 

New year new destination. Start strong with a major New Year’s to remember – teachers, you’ve got a bit of time before schools go back and you need to switch into serious mode. Or, if you’re lacking AL, the bank holiday is your bestie and most offices are still closed anyway… Here are the places that go hard on the NYE celebrations.
