Nuevo Horizonte’s plumped for a cliffside spot, which means there’s no beach. You’ll need to step on it to Costa Caleta – or Caleta de Fuste – for sandy sunbathing. Luckily, it’s only a five-minute drive – or a half-an-hour walk – to get there. And it’s a family-pleasing favourite, with watersports, sunbeds and cafés galore.

Nearby Costa Caleta’s a sure bet for an even bigger squad of bars.

Both line up some tricky holes, alongside their top-dollar sea views.
