Red onions are the ingredient laureate in Capo Vaticano. They’re grown in the town of Tropea and made into everything from pasta sauce to jam. Pop into the town of Ricadi and you’ll find a cluster of traditional restaurants with red onion dishes on the menu. If you want a double dose of local, try them stuffed with regional sausage meat inside.
