Go diving at St George’s Cave
One of the most popular boat trips from Anissaras takes you to a tiny island, known as St George’s Cave. It’s just off the shoreline, so you won’t have to travel far, and it’s a huge hit with scuba divers. Eels and octopuses occupy the craggy inlets, and there are a couple of big openings that are great for exploring. The diving conditions are beginner-friendly, so you don’t have to be a pro to give it a try.The shoreline around Anissaras is peppered with pockets of sand – they range from tiny bays to bigger belts. Anissaras Beach, one of the main scoops, is leader of the pack. It’s got Blue Flag status, thanks to its natural good looks and mountain views. It’s backed by a couple of hotels, so there are spots where you can rent a sunlounger. If a towel on the sand’s more your style, there’s plenty of space along the shorefront for that, as well.
