Liven things up for the day with a 15-minute drive to bustling Grand Baie. There's a delightful medley of bars and restaurants here, as well as a few shops to grab that all-important souvenir. If you're just after a slight change of scene, pop next door to Mont Choisy Beach.
Off-shore snorkelling
Trou aux Biches beach is the perfect spot to slip on your flippers. The local watersport centre offers everything from parasailing to glass-bottomed boat tours, but snorkelling's still one of the best ways to discover the coral-lined underwater world.
