Scenic sights and luxury take the lead at Lake Como – you'll follow in the footsteps of aristocracy with holidays to Tremezzo.

Luxury on the lake

Like its lakeside neighbours, Tremezzo's a hotspot for all things fancy in northern Italy, located on the western shore of Lake Como. Bursting with colour, its grand villas and sprawling gardens hug the waterfront against a staggering alpine backdrop. Use the ferry to town-hop for beaches, watersports and 'spaghetti alla vongole' – that's drool-worthy spaghetti with clams.

Grand designs

Lakeside Villa Carlotta's one of Tremezzo's main attractions – you can unleash your inner art critic by checking out the collection inside. The impeccably kept botanical gardens practically go on forever, and the hike up the hill's rewarded with views all the way to the Alps.

La dolce vita

The most luxurious of the lakeside lot, Tremezzo pulls a first-class crowd. Extravagant villas and guests make it the perfect place for people-watching and absorbing some of the high life. Follow the cobbled stairs to hit the town, crammed with classic Como wine bars, gelato shops and family-run restaurants.
