Rimini holidays offer a lively beach atmosphere by day and an energetic party scene by night.

Lively seaside resort

Rimini is one of Italy’s most popular beach resorts, thanks to it’s 15km sandy coast and energetic, vibrant nightlife. The sandy beaches that line the coast back onto promenades with restaurants, bars, hotels and nightclubs that come alive as the sun goes down. Although Rimini is the place to go if you like to party, it also holds a lot of history. In the Historic Centre, you’ll find Roman ruins and art museums, such as the City Museum which houses more than 1,500 pieces of art to admire. If you fancy a daytrip, you’re not too far from some of Italy’s most iconic cities either. By train you can get to Venice in three hours, Milan in two and a half hours and Bologna in just one hour.

Best time to go to Rimini

The best time to visit Rimini is between April and October. If you like it scorching, then July and August are the time to go, with the thermometer creeping into the thirties. If swimming is on your itinerary, then June to September is when the sea is at its warmest. For exploring the town, and if you like it slightly cooler, then visiting Rimini in spring and autumn might better suit you, with temperatures in the early to mid-twenties.

Top things to see and do in Rimini

Rimini has a 15km long sandy coastline, split up by privately owned areas with sun loungers and parasols to shade you from the sun. Behind the beach you’ll find a promenade, lined with shops, bars and restaurants to grab a refreshing drink or freshly made pizza. For something a bit different to the regular sand and sea combo, there’s Rimini Terme – a thermal spa right on the seafront with treatment facilities, four heated saltwater pools and a wellness centre.

Head to the Esplanade if you fancy a bit of shopping. This is one of the most popular shopping streets in Rimini. It stretches along the coast all the way from the port in Miramar. You’ll find your regular souvenir shops, jewellery shops and clothing stores, all with decorative windows to entice you in and ensure a great window-shopping experience if you don’t want to spend your euros.

Rimini is all about partying, so it’s no surprise that the promenades are full of bars and nightclubs. At night, the central beachfront is the place to be, with Lungomare Augusto and Viale Vespucci full of bars, pubs, nightclubs arcades and restaurants. It’s usual for the night to go on, way into the early hours, so don’t be surprised if everything doesn’t kick off fully until after 11pm. If you like to dance, big discos are often hosted on the hills west of the town.

This griddled Italian flatbread can be found at most street kiosks around Rimini. Its rustic outside can be filled with anything you like, but one of the most popular combos is prosciutto, creamy soft cheese and tomatoes with a sprinkling of arugula to give the sandwich a peppery kick.
