You'll find culture-rich sites like the ruins of Old Vlachata, family-favourite hotspots such as Odysseus Zoo Land and al fresco dining by the yacht-filled marina. Surprise, surprise, there's a picture-perfect beach, too.

Up high, down low

For the best views around, hit up the hiking trails of Mount Ainos – just remember to bring plenty of water and suncream. To skip the afternoon heat, take a 45-minute drive to the underground lagoon of Melissani, where a natural round window pulls in the sky.
