Holidays to Konakli hit that things-to-do sweet spot, with both lazy beach days and loads of exploring on the cards.
Small town vibes
Tucked between big names Alanya and Side along Antalya’s coast, Konakli’s an easy-going town where things are pretty peaceful, which makes it a perfect base if you want a balance between sightseeing and sand-and-sea days. Luxury hotels line the streets, but it’s still got that relaxed and friendly feel, and you’re just as likely to spot the locals catching up outside cafés and bars as you are tourists. There’s a handful of restaurants where you can try the local flavours – like authentic Turkish kebabs and fresh seafood – followed by a sweet slice of flaky baklava. Otherwise, it’s into Alanya to switch things up at mealtimes, plus there’s a banging club scene here if it’s nightlife you’re after.
Get your beach on
The star of the show here is the long stretch of golden sand that runs along the town. You’ll have plenty of patches to pick from, or you can hire a lounger out on a pier for a front-row seat to the sea. To dial up the action, try your hand at jetskiing, parasailing or waterskiing, and there’s a scuba school on the east side of the beach if you’re up for an underwater adventure. The sunsets are something special wherever you’re sitting, although for those Insta-worthy snaps it’s worth climbing up to the Konakli viewpoint beyond the diving centre to get the money shot over the town, beach and beyond.
