Holidays to Jandia hand out an epic beach, a desert-like park and a fishing village with ample shops, bars and restaurants.
Into the wild
Jandia covers the whole of Fuerteventura’s tadpole-like tail. It’s one of the Canary Islands' protected areas, so nature rules the roost here. Jandia Natural Park’s wild landscapes hog 90% of the area. But places like Morro Jable have managed to muscle in along the coast, so you’ve got some restaurants and shopping centres to hand.
Barren beauty
If Mother Nature had to plump for a resort, it’d be here. Her handiwork’s everywhere, from the white sand to the enormous nature reserve behind. Right smack in the middle of Jandia Natural Park, you’ve got Villa Winter. This is one for conspiracy theory lovers – apparently, it was a secret Nazi base.
Main digs
Jandia holidays mostly revolve around the fishing village of Morro Jable. Its beach is so big that you can easily bag a private patch. Plus, there are different zones for swimming and watersports. As you head out of town, the buildings give way to grassy sand dunes, a lighthouse and a skeleton of a sperm whale. Plus, golfers can head for the greens of Jandia Golf Course.Best time to go to Jandia
