Incekum’s the sort of place that takes the holiday basics, and sticks to doing them well. It’s one of the smaller resorts on this stretch of Turkey’s coastline, and most of the resort’s made up of beach-hugging hotels. They’re modelled with families in mind, so you’ll find whopping pools, big activity lists and restaurants that keep all the clan happy.

Because things are pretty peaceful around here, the beach gets a lot of attention. Luckily, it’s a mammoth stretch of pastry-coloured sand that’s dashed with loungers and parasols. Gently shelving shallows make the sea perfect for paddling, and there’s a jetty that pokes out towards an inflatable assault course offshore.

When it comes to shopping or sampling a spot of culture, nearby Alanya’s the top contender. A half-hour taxi ride gets you to the centre. Once you’re there, there’s everything from time-worn castles to up-tempo bars to fill your time with.
