Pack aqua shoes for kids, who'll love spotting fish and paddling in Gennadi's pristine waters. Watersports and horse rides will keep teens engaged while you take it easy sunbathing. As for sundowners, there are some fab beachside bars.

Daytripping

The towns around Gennadi have an old-world feeling worth revelling in. Lindos, with its own Acropolis and azure bay, is within half an hour's drive. You can also catch a bus for an hour's ride to Rhodes Town, where you'll find a photogenic harbour and lively, winding streets.

Kicking it old-school

Gennadi's friendly residents make sure that this former fishing village retains its old-school charm. While it may be popular with tourists, the town rarely gets too packed. You're likely to find your own private stretch of sand or a shady table at a rustic taverna for that tasty platter of moussaka.
