A bumper beach

Sitting along a sandy strip on Ibiza’s north-east coast, Playa Figueral’s nailed down chilled-out beach breaks. Everything here’s pointed towards the 400-metre-long stretch, which is lined from end to end with sunbeds. Scenery-wise, it’s a winner, too. Tree-topped hills border the sand, and the shallow water’s a shade of cyan blue. On a clear day, you’ll be able to see Tago Mago Island off the coast.

Ibiza Town

Playa Figueral’s taken the less-is-more approach to nightlife. So if you want to get groovy on the dancefloor, pop over to Ibiza Town. It’s a 30-minute drive away, and buses ferry visitors to and from the capital every day. When the sun’s up, you can do a spot of shopping around one of the markets. And when it goes down, you’ve got one of the most popular party capitals in the world at your fingertips.

Santa Eulalia del Rio

Another of Ibiza’s big hitters, the town of Santa Eulalia, is just down the road. As well as a top-notch beach scene, this rolls out boutique gift shops and fancy restaurants. A couple of art galleries are thrown into the mix, too. Take a 15-minute drive, or hop on the Ibiza Express, a traditional trolley train that chugs around the island.
