Blue Flag bay

Becici’s tucked into a bay beside the Adriatic Sea. Three of its wedges of sandy beach have cut the mustard with the folks at Blue Flag, and they come with a full complement of swish hotels over their shoulder. The seafront promenade’s brushed with enough restaurants, souvenir shops and watering holes to keep you busy, too.

This place has looks on its side, but also boasts a guestbook with a couple of famous names jotted down. Despite being close to the bigger and buzzier town of Budva, Becici’s natural beauty’s drawn the likes of Mick Jagger, Madonna, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to visit.

Iconic islet

If Montenegro’s coastline were a trophy cabinet, Sveti Stefan would take pride of place front and centre. It’s only 10 minutes’ drive from Becici, and plates up the country’s most- snapped scene. A sandy beach coils around the shoreline, with a villa-dotted islet hooked on by a slither of land. Terracotta roofs and tufty treetops add a dollop of colour, and the sea views are on point.
