Baska Voda holidays put you in just the right place for exploring Croatia’s beach-fronted coastline.

Classic Croatia

Baska Voda takes its place along Croatia’s southern shoreline. And, unlike some of the big-name cities along this stretch, things here tend to stick to tradition rather than tailor themselves for tourists. A horseshoe-shaped beach sits front and centre, and there’s another pair of shorelines a short stroll away. If you fancy heading out to explore other towns and cities, there’s a raft of options to choose from. Split’s only an hour’s drive away, or if you fancy keeping off the beaten track, you’ve got a list of low-key villages and towns to choose from.

Top things to see and do in Baska Voda

In true Croatian style, most of the beaches along this stretch of coast are fronted by pebbles. Baska Voda’s main spot sits right next to the marina in the centre of town, and there’s another pebbly duo a 15-minute stroll away.

Aside from souvenirs there’s not much of a shopping scene in Baska Voda. If you’re in need of some retail therapy, Split’s the place to head. It’s home a huge shopping centre, with more than 100 shops to its name.

Baska Voda’s not the place for partying, evenings here are best spent in an ocean-facing restaurant with a super-fresh seafood dish.

This dish cooked in squid ink, which gives it its black colour. As well as risotto, it’s usually made with seafood like mussels and clams, but you can often find chicken or sausage versions, too.
