Easygoing evenings

The nightlife in Aghia Paraskevi's laidback and low key. Tavernas on the main road have traditional open kitchens so you can watch the experts at work. After your meal, take a stroll next door to the bars of Platanias for a couple of glasses of retsina – a local favourite wine.

Saint's day

Legend has it that St Paraskevi, who gave the village its name, miraculously cured someone's blindness. Every year in the middle of summer, celebrations in his name start with a candlelit ceremony. Then the party begins – live music, dancing and more food than you could ever eat.
