Where to stay in Corfu
Local charm or resort style? Corfu does both. Corfu Town has a Venetian elegance with its fortress and narrow alleys. Then the sun-drenched shores of Paleokastritsa and Sidari offer luxurious beachfront resorts and villas, perfect for soaking up the Ionian lifestyle.
For those in search of a quiet retreat, inland villages like Agios Georgios and Pelekas are all about the traditional Corfiot life, with hotels nestled among olive groves and cypress trees.

FAQs
Corfu Town is the main area to aim for. It’s very well connected to the rest of the island and the airport, with loads of restaurants and a real Venetian feel. Dassia is a smaller area just north of here for something a bit quieter. Then there’s Paleokastritsa and Sidari further west that’re perfect for beach days and sunset spying.
When you travel to Greece, there’s an additional tax on overnight stays. The amount will depend on the type of accommodation you book, ranging from €1.50 to €10 per night. The amount generally increases with the number of hotel stars or the number of rooms you’ve booked and the time of year you visit. Peak season prices are always higher and so the tax increases then, too.
