What's included in an All Inclusive holiday?

All Inclusive = the ultimate holiday hack. Pay a bit extra to get all your food and drink included in your stay, and you’ll usually get activities thrown in, too. No need for spending money here – it’s all sorted before you go. If you pick a package holiday, the price you pay also covers your flights.

What’s included depends on where you’re staying, but in most places you’ll get breakfast, lunch and dinner at a buffet restaurant. That means dessert before your main or pizza all week long is so on – we don’t make the rules… If you love a bit of luxury, many of the more boujie resorts have à la carte dining included. Plus, nothing makes you hungrier than living your best life all day, which is why lots of hotels also have All Inclusive snack bars for ice-cream, cakes and sandwiches to keep you going between meals.

Let’s be real, the All Inclusive drinks are the biggest win. Piña coladas, no card required? Say less. Selected local brand alcohol is normally included as standard, but if it’s gotta be the real deal, look out for hotels with premium upgrades.

If your routine is pool, bar, buffet, repeat… crack on. But in lots of hotels, you’ll also get access to activities and facilities to switch up your schedule. From sunrise yoga and aqua aerobics to cooking classes and full-on beach volleyball tournaments, you can do as much or as little as you like. Lots of family-friendly resorts run their own kids’ clubs, while adults-only ones love things like spa sessions, guided meditation or cocktail-making masterclasses.

We were known as the ‘home of All Inclusive’ back in the day, and we’re still huge fans. No tab to pay when you check out, no awks convos about whose round it is, no checking of prices on menus… And if you want to spice things up and add an experience or go somewhere different for dinner, then it’s a great base for building out your break. Your budget’s set, your plan isn’t.

Why pick All Inclusive holidays

ONE PRICE, NO SURPRISES

ONE PRICE, NO SURPRISES

Your food, drink, and even some activities are included in the cost of your trip.
SKIP THE SPENDING STRESS

SKIP THE SPENDING STRESS

You’re safe from the check-out scaries at the end, your past self’s already picked up the bill.
THE PRICE IS SET, THE PLAN ISN’T

THE PRICE IS SET, THE PLAN ISN’T

It’s all paid for, but your trip’s just getting started. Midday margs or sunrise yoga? You do you.

Holiday types

All Inclusive can work for all your holiday picks…

Fussy eaters. Activity seekers. Stroppy teens. If any of these ring a bell, you know you’ve been on a family holiday. These are all about pleasing lots of different people in one place and All Inclusive does just that, without it costing you a load per child. Buffet restaurants and snack bars mean meals are made flexible, while entertainment consists of shows and concerts and sports activities – from football to tennis – are part of the package, too. Yes, drinks are bottomless but so is the ice cream, and kids’ pools mean splashing isn’t just allowed, it’s encouraged. The real winner though, is the kids’ clubs. Parents, drop your little ones off at these dreamlands of endless organised fun and the hours are yours again to snooze in the spa or hit the beach.
So, stick to your favourite destinations like Turkey, Spain, the Canary Islands and Cyprus but pick All Inclusive to get an itinerary full of freebies thrown in. It’s a win-win for everyone.

If All Inclusive is all about treating yourself, who better to treat than your other half? It’s date night every night and there’s no need to worry about how to split the bill. There are some amazing adults-only picks in places like Dubai, the Caribbean and the Dominican Republic. Whether it’s your honeymoon, an anniversary or just a spontaneous romantic gesture, you can both fully relax, knowing everything is taken care of.
Plus, with no kids to factor in, you can travel outside of the school holidays to score the best prices in holiday hotspots like Spain, Italy and Croatia – they don’t always come cheap when you’ve got families to compete with over summer.

All Inclusive might feel boujie but it can also keep you bang on budget. It’s one price for your hotel, food and drink and even some activities – if you go for a package deal, your flights and transfers are in there too. So, if you can keep that price within the amount you aim to spend on your holiday, you don’t need to spend a penny more.

When you think of All Inclusive, most people think of luxury. Being able to order whatever you want, when you want. When you’re lounging by the pool and a second pina colada isn’t even a question. Going All Inclusive at a five-star resort is the ultimate experience.

Think Greece, Mexico or the Maldives and hotel brands like Ikos and Riu – this is what you’re after. Food cooked by top chefs, à la carte as well as buffet menus, multiple bars to pick from, a spa, premium cocktails and even watersports facilities included. The better a hotel’s facilities, the more you can squeeze out of your stay…
