the reception guy ( fabian ) was very unfriendly and rude to me and my kids ,seems he was very drunk
when i asked him if there is a manager who i can speak with, the answer was he is the Boss here the moment
He made our day very sad
My wife almost cried how he treated us ...

Comfy room but lacking in customer service

I spent 2 nights at Bassena Wien Messe Prater. The room was very spacious, and the bed was very comfortable, especially for someone with a bad back. Tea available for free in the room and a great Italian restaurant down the street.
That being said, I arrived at the hotel after a long train ride. There were 2 staff at reception, one was dealing with a customer and the other (pink jacket), ignored me, despite smiling...

Firstly, the one poor negative...upon check-in, the female receptionist certainly had attitude and doesn't have the decency to even look at guests.
Thankfully, the young gentleman who checked us in was brilliant and an asset to the hotel. He was so informative and gave clear guidance of the hotel.

Just 50 metres from the Messe Wien (the conference centre) and very modern and comfortable. Billed as 4-star but I would give it a 3-star rating as it does not have amenities like a swimming pool and different restaurants. Breakfast however, is very good and ample. You can have your choice of eggs prepared by chefs on the spot.
