This hotel has seriously deteriorated since our last 2 visits. We chose to come back because of its location and it was actually quite good before. We were put in probably the worst room ever. Very basic, very small and filthy. For a 4 star hotel I would expect tea and coffee facilities. We were told we could hire a kettle for 10 a day. Im sure on our previous visits this was included but not anymore. Not very good...

Ideally placed for station and 20 mins stroll into centre. Cant really fault hotel - room was spotless and cleaned every day,breakfast excellent, staff polite and helpful. We actually got a free room upgrade as it was our 25th anniversary - didnt ask for it just emailed and asked if we could have one of the nicer rooms in our price point - so that was excellent. We ate at hotel one evening as the rain was biblical ...

Horrible hotel

Shower floor is multi colored. I refused to shower in it for feast of catching disease. The walls in the room are covered in dust. The hotel clearly puts money into keeping the lobby looking good as a bait and switch for the outdated filthy rooms....

An evening at the Opera

Stayed here to go to the opera. First impressions were of an elegant, upmarket hotel. Staff were superb and very friendly throughout. After a day noticed that some areas looked a bit tired and worn. The room was clean and superficially looked good but closer look showed worn areas such as the leaking shower...

Reasonable Hotel outside city centre

Nice hotel, located outside the town but close to train station. Public areas e.g. reception and bar welcoming. Restaurant reasonably priced, local wine good value. Main thing that let it down was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room which was disappointing....
