This is a remarkable gem hidden away from the busier sections of the city. The receptionists were very helpful because we confused the words "Costello" and "Castello." The hotel is located in the neighborhood "Castello." I was wandering around the Santa Marina Formosa square, called, and I found the hotel in two minutes. We worked through that and had a great time. Poop stinch in room

Spend your money elsewhere. Awful sewage stinch in the bathroom remdered it unusable, the tiniest of all rooms, huge indent on the bathroom door, cracked sink, foreign hair in bed, dusty towels, rude Italian guy at the reception - I could go on and on but the bottom line is: the worst hotel I've stayed in for a long long time, not even close to four stars....

Great location, friendly staff, breakfast lovely

Staying in room 103 atm, rooms great, breakfast was lovely, staff very friendly and helpful.
Location is great with a small grocery shop 1 minute walk if you're forgotten anything.
If we come back we'd happily stay here again.
Definitely recommend

Terrible experience at this stinky hotel!

I would not stay in Hotel Santa Marina even if you pay me a million bucks. The room I was assigned to had a horrible stench. My asthma acted up and I asked for a change of room but the surly stony faced woman at the reception told me it was impossible.
I asked her to come up to the room and smell the stench for herself. She told me that she did check the room and it was fine.

Central, comfortable, friendly Santa Marina

We loved it here. Excellent central location but quiet in the mornings and evenings. The breakfast is too notch. All of the hotel staff who we dealt with were friendly, helpful and professional. Our bed was large and comfortable.
It is not cheap, but there again it is Venezia.
Recommended....
