Lovely stay overlooking the canal

Lovely hotel right on the canal was an ideal setting for my milestone birthday treat.
We were warmly greeted. Our room was upgraded and we overlooked the Canal. Loved the activities on the canal, the night scenery was brilliant to capture.
Great choice of breakfast, snacks and drinks enjoyable.
The bathroom is a little cosy, however, clean and pleasant....

Great location on Grand Canal. Easy to use Vaporetto. Breakfast was good. I was on the 4th floor. Room looked like I was entering a closet. The amenities were more like a 3 or 2 star hotel. (Plastic glasses, limited toiletries. The front desk was mostly helpful but they arranged a taxi for us to travel to the airport and quoted a 60 Euro charge. We visited this hotel in oct 2023This hotel is facing the major transport hubs, only one (Steep) bright to cross. Their are young boys who will take your baggage for you. When we were their it was 6-10 Èuros. Don't haggle too much these are young boys trying to make a living. The Hotel is ok, the location near transport was the draw for us. Our room was clean but very dated as are the corridors. Nice foyer but staff...

Unfortunately the hotel has seen better days,and is in need of a makeover.
The reception area is quite impressive at first glance, but most off the furniture and furnishings are old and in some cases such as the chairs are torn, and grubby.

I expected this hotel to be poor due to the location. But it is so much worse than I ever imagined. I paid for a room I should be in a regular room not a room for a China doll, because thats what this room that I am in is about. My daughter, my niece both said this is worse than a dorm room and they are right. It is the smallest room I had ever in stayed in in my life. I travel a lot I stay in a lot of hotels I have...
