We wanted somewhere near the theatre La Fenice, other than the foyer of the theatre we could not have been closer,no more than 100m.
The staff were professional, welcoming and very helpful. The quaint nature of the hotel certainly appealed to my wife and I. You can arrange a water taxi direct from the airport to the hotels water door. 30-40 min. Much easier than wrestling through narrow streets with luggage, and on ...

Hotel facilities and room need updating. Due to the age of the hotel it seems that the room is not that clean and feels like its dusty although I see hotel staff cleaning and sanitising the rooms. Receptionist and hotel staff were friendly and helpful.Breakfast is good and has a nice variety to pick from. Do not make a booking with this hotel under any circumstances.
We had a group booking of 5 rooms (which was set to pay onsite as stated when booking) and the hotel cancelled 6 days before arrival. They said it was an issue with my card when I asked to prepay in advance, which was rubbish because I used it to book another hotel straight away. Stayed at Hotel Ateneo for 3 nights for a family visit to Venice. The welcome was very warm as was all the interaction with the staff throughout the visit.
