Great hotel, amazing customer service

We had previously stayed at Hotel dei Consoli they year before on a Rick Steves tour and had thoroughly enjoyed it and booked it immediately when we knew we were returning to Rome this summer. They have an excellent location walking distance from the vatican far enough away to be out of the touristy zone. The rooms are somewhat small but very clean and there is an excellent breakfast on the rooftop.

We had one of the warmest hotel welcomes Ive experienced from the highly professional and friendly, concierge, Fabrizio. Room 209 was comfortable, and clean with a reasonable air-conditioning system. As a bonus, it had a spa bath. It was equipped with a fridge. We requested a kettle which Fabrizio provided without qualm. The location, near the Vatican, was convenient for getting around Rome. Wonderful, great location close to the Vatican and public transport. Staff was friendly and provided great recommendations. We found the hotel to be very well suited to our travel needs. Breakfast was good too! ...

We stayed at Hotel Dei Consoli for 4 nights. Just left on today. Typical small quarters.?However, the shower was very small even for a hotel room. The shower head was in great need of descaling. Ive never seen that in a hotel shower before. They had a old green blanket in the closet, that we refused to use! It looked like it was a cats blanket. Breakfast was just ok. Highly recommended, convenient location, walking distance to everything you need in Rome. Amazing breakfast, roof top space is brilliant and most of all, clean rooms! Absolutely would come back again for the breakfast alone....
