This is a nice hotel, but it's wearing out fast. The floors are scuffed and the furniture worn. Front desk and door people were quite friendly and helpful. The breakfast is far better than anything one would find in the US, but significantly below what we experienced elsewhere in Portugal and Europe. I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in October, unfortunately my 1st time in porto didn't start well, when I arrived from campanha station from lisbon , my wallet was taken from my backpack while between platform to the station exit, I only realised it wad gone while waiting for my taxi to the hotel.

I booked 2 rooms on the same reservation, as we travelled with friends - another couple. We were expecting some luxury at this so called 5 star hotel, sadly we've stayed a much much better 4 star hotels! We booked based on previous reviews and we struggled to understand their rave ratings.

We arrived late at night after a mix up with a booking at another hotel. We had nowhere to stay for the next week and all hotels were full because of the wildfires and people not being able to travel from the city. We got the last room available. A little way out from the centre but metro station is 15 minutes walk away and uber service is great.Rooms are very spacious and bed was comfy.The front desk staff were especially helpful who helped us out on several occasions.The rooftop bar is nice and there is a great sunset to catch if you get there at the right time....
