Disappointed with staff and reservations

Really bad and disappointing experience with hotel staffing/reservation. I tried to reach out the hotel due to an issue with one of my kids passport issue when boarding to Portugal, and no one responded to my messages, requests, emails. It took few days for they to respond they would not allow reschedule. I will never book with this hotel chain....

Upon arrival after our flight was delayed the woman at concierge was nice. I requested a complimentary upgrade (why not!?) and they said we had been put in an Executive room. Its been OK, but not a 5 star. The room is a bit dated and you can tell by the some of the finishes on the floorboards. My biggest complaint is that the beds are not as comfortable as you would expect them to be in even a 4 star hotel. Also, yo...

My partner and I stayed at HF Ipanema Hotel in June 2024 for the São João Festival. The hotel was lovely, the room was very clean and cosy and the hotel staff were very helpful. However the hotel is quite far from the bridge where the São João Festival is held (about a 1 hour and 30 minute walk) but that was a mistake on our part and the hotel was great none the less.

Ideal location for us as enjoy walking 30 minutes to coast and centre, 45 minutes to Doura River Bridge or get an Uber they are very cheap. Hotel 10 Euro in a taxi from Airport. Got to hotel way before check in time, let us leave luggage no problem. Hotel is very spacious and very clean and friendly staff. We had 3 in our room and it was big enough for us all, large bathroom, safe, mini bar and tea/coffee facilities...

Hotel is nice & comfortable, restaurant in hotel is good, bar area very nice with a varied menu to suit everyone. Bedroom was nice, very good shower, toiletries stocked daily, mini bar if you wish to use it, towels provided for both pool areas.
