Cruise did an overnight stay in Livorno so reserved a room in Pisa and caught a bus there. Tucked away on narrow stone-laid street that is a common site in old-world Europe, the hotel is centrally located between the Tower and a vibrate plaza area filled with shops and restaurants where we found some good pizza.

This is an excellent hotel located in a quiet side street. It is close to the main sites, and to good restaurants and cafes. The staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive. My room was clean and comfortable. The front desk is manned 24/7 and the staff are helpful. The breakfast was good, with a wide range of food and drink....

Gem of a hotel

We stayed at this hotel overnight at each end of our trip to Florence. We had a superior room in the medieval part of the hotel overlooking the garden at the back. The room was quiet , spacious , light and airy, we enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. There is a roof terrace with great views where you can have a drink in the evening.

I read a variety of reviews before booking a "double room" (it was 1 night, I didn't expect/want anything special). I was clearly charged for a deluxe room. Nearly 200 (WITHOUT breakfast) for the smallest, gloomiest back room with paper-thin walls, horrid toiletries, a grim-looking bedcover (sheets and pillow cases were clean).

We honestly werent expecting much, but arriving at sunset and being able to view the Bell Tower from the roof terrace with a glass of wine was wonderful! Rooms are basic, but clean. Breakfast offered decent variety, and excellent croissants. Hotel staff were always available to answer questions and provide information. Location is very central. Overall, a great stay!...
