My husband booked a surprise trip for us to NYC right after Christmas. Im so glad he booked the San Carlos hotel. He had booked an executive suite for us and our daughter and Im not sure how but we were upgraded to the penthouse suite. We stayed in room 1801 for two nights and it was amazing! Clean, great location, friendly staff. Loved visiting the city and going to a show on Broadway. Chilly and crowded but left feeling very festive. Cant wait to come back. Hope everyone has a Happy holidays!...

Hotel fine service not so much

The shower in my room did not work. Maintenance came and made the situation worse. Overall the hotel is fine, but their maintenance practices are dubious and underwhelming.
I would have left a 3 star review, but I have called the manager 3 times and NO return call. Once I protest the credit card charge, they will undoubtedly return my call!!!...

This hotel exceeded my expectations given the competitive rate. It was clean and the room large. The street was relatively quiet and the subway was down half a block. Lots of eateries near by, many open late (it's Manhattan, of course). The bed was among the most comfortable I've been in. The staff was friendly and immediately helpful. Firstly, apologies for this very late review, I hope it will still be of benefit to travellers wishing to book this hotel in the near future.
I stayed at the San Carlos Hotel (rated 4 Star) located at 150 East 50th Street NYC with my wife and adult daughter from 16 to 20 June 2024, the first leg of our 2 centre holiday in the USA and our first visit to New York since 2002.
