I will definitely book here again. The ambiance is cozy, comfortable and warm. You feel at home. The environment is relaxing and calming. I loved the mezzanine lounge area. The staff is helpful and seem to enjoy working there. I will definitely look to stay at other Freehand properties whenever I am travelling....

Expensive and not worth your money - also no amenities in the room

I booked this for the last 2 days of our stay in NYC beforehand we spent 5 days in Brooklyn. This was a stark change from our Brooklyn hotel - very dark, there were no amenities in the room - there isn't even a cup in the bathroom for water or to rinse your mouth after brushing.
The light in the shower constantly flickered
The rooms window look out on to other rooms so keeping the blinds closed is probably best.

We were very impressed with the Freehand Hotel on Lexington. The sound-proofing is incredible! You will hear minimal street noise, but you don't hear your neighbors at all. The space in each room is used so well and, while they rooms are small, you don't feel cramped at all. We would definitely stay here again!...

The staff are incredible. They did so much to help me during my stay, and made everything so easy. The room was comfortable, with a great shower. I really appreciated the hard work of the staff as a solo traveller, they really made me feel safe in the big city....

Okay looking lobby. Halls are dark and depressing. Room is average size. Bathroom is tiny with the smallest sink I've ever seen in a hotel.
The real problem is that I'm allergic to feathers and they have only feather pillows. Most hotels have foam pillows available, but not the Freehand. And frankly, the manager was not even kind about not having non-feather pillows when I spoke to him.
