This was our first time visiting NYC and we thought this would be a good hotel to go with considering you dont spend much time in it. In all honesty we did everything to not have to be in it.
The street the hotel is on is horrible, I felt very unsafe with tramps, druggies and people shouting abuse at us. Its very dark, not highlighted well & has a real unwelcoming entrance to it.

Hiltons DoubleTree's brand aims to grow the brand by acquiring other hotels, so don't expect constructed Hilton standards including service. Rooms are small but we only used them to sleep as we were out at first light until dusk. The 40th Street 9th Avenue location is great for access to Times Square, Empire State, etc. The entrance is not well signposted, and the lobby is small, and constantly crowded, with poor ch...

Avoid this hotel. Reception staff are rude and unhelpful. We paid £798 plus $120 hotel charge for a double room for two adults and two children for 3 days. We were given a room with one bed. My niece had to sleep on a camp bed. Very basic, nothing in mini bar, only one tea bag and two coffee sachets. Our baggage was lost, we were offered no help, asked for an international plug, no help given. Toilet seat broken, cha...

Amazing roof top bar, but drinks too pricy for us. $30 for vodka & coke & bottle of beer, plus the tip of course! Just had the one!

Got home today, really didnt like this hotel, have been to NY before and never had reason to complain about the hotel.
The outside of this hotel is horrible and I didnt feel particularly safe at night.
The rooms are so so small, two suitcases and there is nowhere to walk in the room. Housekeeping was a joke, 5days and they only visited once, duvets dont have covers on them, just a sheet above and below, goodness...
