A very friendly hotel. Comfortable rooms and a good shower. Spotless.
A simple but tasty breakfast provided with the most wonderful coffee. Has a lovely roof terrace where you can enjoy a very reasonably priced beer or wine from the bar. I would not give more than 2 stars to this hotel. It is well located, very close to the train station and to the main roads, even if the streets nearby are not nice (in that area there are no nice, clean and safe streets). Hotel is a pleasant surprise, great service and communication from all the staff. Couldn't do enough for us and all requests were fulfilled. Rooms are small but adequate as we were only looking for somewhere to lay our heads. Shower is small but manageable. Breakfast was fine

I've given the Colombo an excellent rating because of its value for money. You've all probably read the comments about the area but most people we definitely did not feel unsafe at all. The street sellers never bothered us once even when we stopped to look at their goods. This hotel was spotless clean and our room was cleaned daily and fresh towels every day.
