We arrived late afternoon for a few days in Madrid. This was our first time visiting the city. After reading mixed reviews about this hotel I wasnt sure what to expect however a lot of reviews were correct (unfortunately).
No smile from reception staff, a form was put in front of me to sign and hand over my card along with a room number. Basic manners were missing such as how was your flight, is this your first time...

I would not recommend this hotel for several reasons. First, the refrigerator in our room was hot (like I thought it was going to start a fire). We traveled with an infant and the crib was placed in the room next to the bench at the foot of the bed. It looks like a soft upholstered bench but it was actual metal and our baby rolled and hit his face through the side of the crib. He got a black eye. Anytime someone talk...

Really nice and comfortable hotel. Each room is decorated and furnished in a unique thematic manner. The hotel is conveniently located immediately close to the Gran Via and public transport. Walking distance from Casa Royal, big park etc. The staff is nice and friendly, ready to help if needed....

Initial reviews after checking in a few hours ago. I will update my review after checking out.
1. The hotel is nicely decorated with clean rooms. Has bunk beds for those traveling with kids.
2. Has an onsite restaurant and even a roof deck.
2. Centrally located to many restaurants, grocery stores and shopping.

On a positive note the staff were excellent and very friendly!
To avoid a long essay I have bullet pointed the areas of concern
*the roof top terrace is closed to hotel guests and only opens for weddings and private functions . Shame as looking forward to having drinks up there
