This was our second trip here, last time was in 2018. Location is very good, about 2/3 the way from Atocha Train Station (15 minute walk) to Plaza Mayor (5 minute walk). 15 minutes to the Prado and Retiro. If you can walk a mile, you can see just about everything. Area is clean. A bit uphill from Atocha, something to keep in mind if you are bringing luggage from the train station, but we managed it fine.

We were in Spain to go on a cruise and stayed here for three days prior to heading to Barcelona to meet our ship
The hotel was great, very comfortable and close to great places to eat and transportation. The room was pretty and nicely kept. There are easy walks to the museums and nearby vibrant plazas. It was an easy walk to the Metro at Sol and we connected from there to a day trip to Segovia by train....

We arrived at Catalonia Puerto del Sol at the same time as a large tour group. Reception staff handled the mosh pit checkin beautifully. Our room was very nice and the bathroom was great. Bed and bedding were comfy with excellent pillows. The location is convenient but the immediate neighborhood is not so attractive. Located between the Royal Palace and The Prado, making most of the top tourist sites within walking distance. Hotel staff could not have been more accommodating. Our rooms were comfortable and clean, although the frosted glass door to the bathroom allowed too much light into the room at night, disturbing the sleep of my travel buddy....

This hotel is in a great, central location. The entrance, courtyard, and historical elements (stairway, stonework, etc.) are all beautiful. The bar has a great selection, including bottled Guinness, and we received friendly service there. It was nice to relax with a drink in the courtyard.
