Superb, characterful little hotel. Very helpful staff and scrupulously clean. Good breakfast, and we especially liked the free coffee and cakes in the afternoon. It is in an area of narrow cobbled streets next to the castle - which means it is high up a very steep hill. Unless you are fit you'll need a taxi up from the town centre, or the 737 bus which runs every 20 mins and takes you most of the way up. Some excelle...

Absolutely wonderful hotel. The staff could not have been kinder or more helpful. There was always a smile and they took time to make sure everything was right for us. The hotel is beautiful and always so clean. I could not recommend this more highly....

Solar do Castelo is a great hotel to stay in. We booked the hotel with BA holidays, when we arrived at the hotel the entrance was not what you would expect with a hotel just a door with a bell. But once you open the door things change, the hotel is inviting and the staff are very welcoming. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast is excellent, lots of choices on offer. I would definitely recommend staying her...

People were kind. We had a wonderful breakfast and were able to check in early. They were able to store our bags and gave wonderful directions to newcomers. We also had a very quiet visit and many walks around the city. I would recommend it to families as well....

A unique, historical hotel within the area of São Jorge Castle. Rooms are tasteful and in keeping with the building. The housekeeping team must work very hard as the hotel is so clean.
Loved the courtyard with the peacock visitors and it was so nice to sit by the fire pit with the free glass of fizzy wine and pastries in the evening.
Breakfast is good with enough choice and it is from 7am to 12 which is nice as ther...
