A unique, historical hotel within the area of São Jorge Castle. Rooms are tasteful and in keeping with the building. The housekeeping team must work very hard as the hotel is so clean.
Loved the courtyard with the peacock visitors and it was so nice to sit by the fire pit with the free glass of fizzy wine and pastries in the evening.

Not luxury. The hotel is situated by the castle and the area of Alfama worth visiting. Its a hike to the hotel. The room is not that great. Small and dark. It is clean and thank you to the staff who do this although they all look miserable. But 3 nights in this room was enough. Walls are so thin you can hear everything and mattress hard. This is truly a gem! If you love history and charm and luxury this is your place to stay. Staff were so friendly and helpful. They offered a complimentary pick up from the port which was super helpful!!! And the complimentary breakfast offered a variety of foods for everyone....
