Fabulous. We went there some 20+ years ago. This time we went with your granddaughter. The family duplex was perfect was were the breakfasts and the general sophisticated but relaxed ambience of the hotel. The rooftop bar served delightful drinks and gave beautiful views over Florence. Beautiful hotel on the Arno River! Rooms were clean and spacious. Food and drinks are amazing as well! Service was top-notch,especially at the bar inside. The only reason for one star off is the shower in the bathroom. Ours was the size of a phone booth (maybe), and the sides were collapsible and didn't attach to the ground. Therefore, every time one of us would shower, it got water all over the floor of the bathroo...

This hotel is very grand from the moment you step out of your taxi to the moment you are stepping back into your taxi or car. The staff is more than welcoming and eager to help you. We enjoyed a room with a view of the river, which also helped you to see the grand vistas that were available on that side of the hotel.

The hotel was in a great location within walking distance from all the sights and in a quieter area away from the hustle and bustle. Very comfortable room with a view of the Arno river. Lovely rooftop area to sit and admire the views and American bar with a small pool. I had bed and breakfast and I very much enjoyed the wide variety of breakfast on offer. Beware - hotel tries to take extra preauthorisations - without approval

Arrived on 29th July for 3 nights.
I provided a credit card upon arrival - for a pre-authorised amount (379). This is totally normal practice - and I was assured no monies would be taken. I gave my pin number and credit card. I agreed to this.
On 31st July I got a call from Reception.
They had "tried to process another pre-authorisation for c.700 and it had failed". They demanded I went down to Reception.
