I travel weekly for work, so I am used to staying in a range of hotels, but the Clayton Düsseldorf was particularly disappointing. The hotel has an incredibly old and neglected feel, almost like stepping into an 80s airport hotel that has not kept up with modern standards. This is an amazing hotel.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
We all loved the huge buffet, the coffee is European buffet and Japanese miso.
The beds are awesome and the spa part is really worth the while.
The location in little Tokyo, as one could call this part of Düsseldorf, is allowing you to stop on Japanese shops and to exclusive a real Japanese cuisine....

Unfortunately this hotel has severe issues with hygiene. We ended up having to move rooms three times because of issues with each of them.
When you first enter the lobby, the hotel looks clean, classy and high end- but this is very deceiving. The front desk staff were polite on check in, but completely useless in trying to resolve issues with the rooms.

The food was okay, the stay was okay. But the problem came when me and my colleague was checking out. We was there during a conference hosted at the hotel.
We spent 30 minutes trying to check out and pay, and all the two people at the front desk was able to deliver was a empty invoice. And both people in the front desk told us the stay was payed for by the company that hosted the conference.

First impression was this is a nice hotel in a good location. Entrance and reception area were impressive. We checked in and were advised we had been upgraded to a junior suite. Staff were very friendly. Good start.
