This hotel is not as advertised no air con no water no facilities other than the pool (which is public)
i stayed here 10 years ago and it was ok, however this has changed
the indoor hotel pool was closed when we arrived - no one told us
no welcome, just a self check in machine
roooms are poor no air con, boiling hot, absolutely bo facilities no fridge, only had one pillow, 2 small towels just extremely basic for ...

We recently stayed for 4 days at the Friendly City Hotel Oktopus. What looked online like a well-maintained hotel with many facilities turned out to be a complete lie. Upon arrival, we were greeted with the news that the indoor pool was closed because it was warm enough outside (22 degrees and cloudy). We already found this strange.

The following was absolutely resplendent: -
the room
the breakfast (really sublime)
the staff
the cleanliness
availability of an iron & an ironing board
the pool
the slides
close to Siegburg
The only slight 'blemishes' were, access to the seltzer/water dispenser, outside breakfast & that a refrigerator was not available, within the room....

We stayed at the Friendly Cityhotel Oktopus as a stop over on a long drive across Europe. We were towing a long glider trailer so parking was an issue. Some weeks before our journey, I e-mailed the hotel to ask if they could provide parking for a car towing a ten metre trailer. I got no response. Looking at Google maps, I could see that there was parking alongside the site so I went ahead and booked.

Went on a long holidays driving and decided to stop here as outdoor swimming pool .Swimming pool water was icy cold,showers icy cold.I booked a room with swimming pool view and I got one facing the main road,baby coat is chargeable of 10 euros ,rooms very basics got one bath towel and one face towel for the 3 of us,no glass in the room ,no shower gel.Overall very disappointed .Not worth 100 euros a night better top ...
