After reading recent reviews, I was very anxious as to what type of hotel we were going to.
I was pleasantly surprised on arrival, receptionist staff were very friendly and helpful. Reception area clean and attractive.
We were rather early, so the reception staff kept our luggage after giving us tickets.
We returned several hours later and were quickly checked into our room.

Avoid at all cost. Old building with no maintenance at all. Room cleaning gets randomly skipped. Terrible staff.
There are 2 tiny elevators for the whole hotel, overcrowded and extremely slow. You are lucky if you dont get stuck in the elevator for hours.
One day the elevator broke down with my friend in it, and she couldnt get out for 3h until we needed to call the fire department to forcefully open the elevat...

Dont be fooled by the photos this is nowhere near a 4-star hotel. The whole experience felt like a scam. When we arrived, the room was disgusting: sticky brown stuff on the bathroom floor, hairs everywhere, and dried-up white liquid on the walls. We complained, but they told us cleaning staff wouldnt be available until the next morning! After insisting, they gave us a different room, which was just as bad pubic...

The rooms look out at an inner courtyard belonging to the hotel. We had a lot of problem with noise, people playing loud music at night and at day, people smoking outside of their windows while drinking and screaming at night. It was really distressing and the hotel staff seemingly couldn't deal with the situation: they said they cannot tell which room the noise is coming from even after showing videos of the people ...

Misleading price fixing at Exe Budapest Center

I recently stayed at the Exe Budapest Center and was extremely disappointed with my experience, especially given the exorbitant price of 500 per night for a normal double room. As I already stayed there before, I knew the state of the rooms. I made a reservation as I don't mind spending a bit on luxury. Nevertheless, when I saw the price, I was sure they renovated the hotel. They did not.
