Not bad but quirky hotel

Stayed here for 2 nights earlier this week. Its not a bad hotel but its quirky - there are 3 different lifts depending on which floor your room is on. Its old and in need of a little refurb. Almost felt deserted even though we were told they were fully booked.
Outside there are at least 6 sex shops and its noisy so ask for a room not facing the main road.
Staff were friendly and helpful....

There were bed bugs in my room. I discovered this when I felt one walking on me (I have a lot of bites). I told the reception and they changed my room but they did not offer anything to compensate me for the major inconvenience of needing to decontaminate all of my belongings before I can bring them into my house, and the discomfort of the bites. Infested Room with BedBugs!

My experience was terrible. The door of my room was blocked and I could not open it. I passed twice in a single day. And besides the room was infested with bedbugs. I took photo of 4 different sites where you can see walking through the room. Very bad experience, because I have sent emails and still not answered....

I was slightly concerned prior to staying here as I had read some negative reviews. However, I was very happy with my room and the friendly reception received when checking in. I had paid for breakfast but an early flight meant I needed to leave the hotel before breakfast so a breakfast box was organised for me to take to the airport. Great hotel. Lovely staff.
Pauline on the front desk was very helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean and our ensuite was spacious and spotless. The breakfast was really good with a good choice of hot and cold options. Location was good just a very short walk from lots of shops and a busy pedestrianised street. We would definitely go back....
