Bed was very comfortable, room clean, good choice for breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful, however our room was in need of several minor repairs for some reason the wardrobe doors had been removed completely.
Very good location but if you like it quiet this is not the place to stay, located on a busy road (I think they could do with upgrading their double glazing), which was very noisy all night, so much so a...

On leaving they charge you city tax, £6.75 euros each per night!
A taxi from the hotel to the airport was quoted as 35 euros, by hotel reception staff, when we got to the airport the taxi driver turned off the "clock" and insisted on 45 euros.
Lovely breakfast and good location, but don't pay extra for premier room, very noisy, thin walls and broken shower....

Barcelona Universal is a perfectly adequate hotel. Room was good, and although I had mailed them before arriving and asking for a twin, when we got to the room, it was made as a double room. No problems, reception got it sorted with 15mins. As we had arrived 2 hours before official check in, I was expecting a wait, but staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a privilege room, with great views over Barcelona....

The hotel is excellent located in a very good location near all modes of transportation. The staff are all excellent. We were very fortunate to deal with Nicole when checking in. She was patient, humble, provided assistance and displayed excellent customer service. She made sure our stay was pleasant Close to all kinds of shopping. The rooms were large and clean. This hotel was excellent. One of the best sleeps I've had away in a long time. The staff and everything about this hotel was exceptional. The location is also excellent, the Metro is right outside the hotel and only 3 stops to all the shops. Definitely recommend....
