Location was superb! The hotel has got a lot of character and really nice atmosphere. The bed was the most comfortable we had ever slept in! The tea and coffee making facilities were poor, there was no coffee and we had to ask, daily, for milk. Due to the nature of houses in Amsterdam they are tall and narrow, so be prepared for some steep stair climbing!! Over the 4 days we were there we got used to climbing 3 fligh...

Brilliant stay at The Max Brown. Very central location with just a short walk to everywhere! A short walk from the train station where we were met by extremely friendly staff. Welcome drink on arrival, nothing was too much. Lovely, clean rooms with maid service daily. A lovely little birthday note and balloons too to celebrate my daughters birthday. Highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here again. T...

Amazing hotel so quirky and perfect location, breakfast was nice to, staff were very friendly and helpful, Paul in particular nothing was to much trouble, I was feeling under the weather one evening and he made me a hot lemon and honey. Very much looking forward to returning in the not to distance future....

Expedia charged us and so did Max Brown. Neither will fix so we have turned the matter over to our credit card company. This was the second hotel we stayed at while in Amsterdam. We wanted to be close to the train station and on a canal. It checked both of those boxes. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed a complimentary glass of champagne as a welcome. Pros: I loved the vibe of the hotel, my adorable, comfortable room and the location - just a 4 minute walk to Amsterdam Centraal Station, but on a quiet block on a canal. The staff could not have been nicer. The view from my window overlooking the canal could not be beat. I had a small maintenance issue with my room and it was fixed within hours.
