A room like a corridor at a premium rate

This was such a disappointment. I planned this trip months in advance and was disappointed that my premium double hotel room was little more than a corridor. It was not possible to sit on the toilet without banging your legs on the wall and the entrance to the shower was tiny...I am small and struggled with the size.......

Great location as right in the cultural district. We stayed in November 2024. This hotel is meant to be 4 star but was a bit of a disappointment. We had a double room. The room was clean and beds comfy. The decor is somewhat dated. The shower leaked as the the pipework wasnt right. The sockets by the bed didnt work so we were resigned to use the the socket by the door to charge our phone. Lovely coffee machine and ...

I did extensive research on finding a hotel that would suit my needs in Amsterdam. I decided that Catalonia Vondel would fit the bill. I landed around 9:30am and took the airport bus to the hotel. Uber is expensive in Amsterdam and the bus drops you off really close to the hotel. I arrived around 10:30am and was informed that the room wasnt ready yet because it had to be cleaned. No problem. A nice hotel in a quiet side street but within a few metres of restaurants and bars. Breakfast very expensive at 23 euros. Comfortable bed. Large "smart" tv which unfortunately out-smarted me (and I'm usually good with technology). No tea facilities, only a Nespresso coffee unit. Strange bathroom plug-less sinks and notices exporting you to save water ????...
