Holidays to Cala Pada centre on a horseshoe of soft sand, and throw in a great watersports scene. There's a lively town on both sides, too.
Easy-reach beach
Cala Pada’s tucked-away bay is the star of the show in these parts. It’s stuck to the Balearic Islands' textbook recipe of golden sand and clear water, and topped things off with a backing of fluffy green pine and juniper trees. Plus, if that wasn’t a deal-sealer already, there are uninterrupted views of the open sea, too. It’s a go-slow sitch here – you won’t find any of Ibiza’s famously wild beach bars. Just two pretty eateries have set up shop, serving seafood and tapas.
Tip-top watersports
Cala Pada’s a big hitter on the watersports scene, thanks to a squad of offshore reefs, which protect it from the sea. This, teamed with winds regularly blowing in from the south, scores top marks with windsurfers – there’s even a school at the ready to show you the ropes. Sailing, parasailing and diving’s also on offer.
Close by Ibiza Town
The island’s largest city, Ibiza Town, sits a 15-minute drive away from Cala Pada. It’s chock-full of history – for starters, there’s an old town wrapped in Medieval stone walls and topped by a castle, and a cathedral which dates back to the 13th century. There’s no end of shops to tick off, too. The city ramps up the volume after dark, with big-name clubs like Pacha and Amnesia getting in on the action.
