Located on Thassos' south-west coast in Greece's North Aegean islands, this little coastal village has a well-earned reputation for being one of the prettiest places around. Action-adventure is within easy reach, though – lively Limenaria is just a five-minute drive down the road.
History to hand
It's a 40-minute drive to the island capital, Thassos Town, where old-world Greece is waiting to tell you its tales. The Limenas Archaeological Museum is a great place to start, full of ancient artefacts and intriguing facts. Be sure to stop by the restored Roman amphitheatre for epic ocean views with your history dose.
More than sand and sea
Tripiti's turquoise horseshoe cove creates a postcard-perfect scene. With sunloungers to rent and caves to explore, you can easily spend the whole day here. For something a little different, drive 10 minutes to Metalia Beach – a shore ringed by the ruins of an old iron mine.
