On the Ionian Island of Corfu's eastern coast, Kommeno Bay's secluded peninsula location and upmarket hotels give it an exclusive feel – but it's not quite as remote as it seems. Corfu Town's only a 20-minute drive away, and a 10-minute drive around the corner's Dassia Beach, a prime sunbathing spot.

Kommeno Bay has built up such a grade-A reputation that the Greek elite flock here to set up swish seaside hideaways. The beaches aren't private though, so feel free to roam around and find your favourite. Watersports and sunloungers are on offer around the hotels, while quieter beaches are also tucked among the coves.
Fun for all
Drive 20 minutes down the coast and you'll be in Corfu Town, the island's cultural and historical hub. If cities aren't your thing, take a 15-minute drive inland instead and you'll reach the Aqualand waterpark. Here, you can beat the heat and slip and slide to your heart's content.
