Holiday favourite Punta Prima is a 10-minute drive south of S'Algar, and boasts a Blue Flag award-winning beach. For a quieter retreat, Cala Alcaufar's just 20 minutes away on foot. Back in town, you can take the plunge and go scuba diving or snorkelling, then dry off on the nearby Path of Horses walking trail.
Capital of culture
For a change of scenery, 20 minutes' drive north takes you to Mahon, Menorca's capital. This hub of modern shopping's also got a huge 18th-century fort and museums galore. You can fill up on rustic and gourmet delights at a food market and end the day chilling out in a jazz club.
