Holidays to Latvia are heaving with storybook-style towns, Medieval castles and enchanting forests.

A Baltic beauty

Latvia’s sandwiched between Lithuania and Estonia, on the edge of the Baltic Sea. This country may be small, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in personality – from the fairytale forests in Gauja National Park, to Riga’s Art Nouveau architecture, this country is full to the brim with lots of unique and interesting places to explore.

Something for everyone

The country’s capital, Riga, is a vast city with plenty to offer – Livu Aquapark is a firm favourite for families, equipped with a wave pool, slides and a spa. Whereas those who wish to take a more relaxed approach, can opt for a river cruise along the Daugava. While keeping your feet firmly on dry land, you can admire what Riga is renowned for – its Nouveau architecture. Simply take a stroll around the Old Town, or dive in headfirst with a trip to the Riga Art Nouveau Museum.

Daytrips galore

The city of Sigulda is less than an hour’s car journey from Riga – this place is definitely worthy of a daytrip. Explore the Sigula New Castle and ruins, or hike through the Gauja National Park, a maze of forests, cliffs and natural springs surrounding the Gauja River. Plus, here you can visit the country’s oldest tourist attraction – Gutmanala grotto, the largest cave in Latvia.
