The Bourgas region spreads out from a nook in Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast. The country’s second-biggest city, Bourgas, sits square in the middle. But it’s the sand-centric towns on either side that get the most attention.
Loud and lively
Holiday resort-wise, Sunny Beach is the name on everyone’s lips. This place bangs out a massive Blue Flag beach, shedloads of watersports and knockout nightlife. On either side you’ve got slightly sleepier Nessebar and St Vlas. The former supplies the history and H20 action, while the latter’s a sandy beach pro.
